THE MONDAY 5: DJANGO DJANGOPosted: September 24, 2012
While this album isn’t technically new, as it was released earlier in the year overseas, the self-titled debut from UK band Django Django is finally getting a US release (it’s available digitally now). Good news!
While the band’s sound is often described as psychedelia, that descriptor doesn’t really do them justice, as they spend quite a bit of time pushing the envelope in many genres – electronic, art rock, indie rock, and experimental. They play the sort of songs that never sound the same way twice.
The band claims their name has nothing to do with Django Reinhardt.
Here are a few videos to mull over, which are the best watched under the influences of something. Like coffee.
