I’m not sure if this should be filed under weird news or sad news, but according to a study on consumer habits carried out by marketing firm Experian, Philadelphians have an insatiable appetite for sweat suits!

According to researcher John Fetto:

“Among the 209 designated market areas in the United States, Philadelphia is the highest ranking when it comes to the mean number of sweats and sweat items that are purchased each year.”

And he follows with what is the article’s best quote:

“There’s no shame in wearing sweats, I don’t think. I think there are probably plenty of fashionable sweat options that are out there.”

Rounding out the top 5 are the style capitals Hartford, Pittsburgh, Lafayette (LA), and Laredo (TX). Those yinzers can’t even beat us at questionable fashion.

You can read the full article from CBS Philly here. No mention on which counties led the Delaware Valley, but my money is on Delaware and Berks.

This should be some good news for Forman’s Mills.
